The fourth VeloExpo
The fourth and biggest yet VeloExpo was held in Randles Bros Nisssan Dealership on the 17th and 18th September 2016. There were some beautiful bikes on display. The mix was quite interesting everything from lovingly restored Italian beauties to much loved well worn ‘old friends’.
The job of the judges was very difficult considering the diversity of what was on display. Thanks to the criteria devised by Paul Musgrave the coveted Tractor Spares Trophy went to the deserving winner the Pinarello of Nial Darragh.
The award for ‘Best Original’ went to the Moser of Raymond Grogan. As you can see from the display this bike has seen many Eroicas !
Other bikes to receive honourable mention were the beautiful original Motobecane of Peter Seymor and the excellent Mercian Superlight track bike of Terry Cromer.
Of course the real ‘Star of the Show’ was the Hobbs of Barbican of the 1956 Rás winner the great Gene Mangan.
