Bike of the Month – December 2020
December’s ‘Bike of the Month’ is from collector and Irish expat Donal Turner who is now living in Portugal. Despite its Italian sounding name this bike is from a manufacturer in Quebec, Canada. Marinoni started their business in 1974 and quickly built up a reputation among the more discerning cyclists. Donal had this built to order in 1982 and it still looks fantastic today. We agreed unanimously here in the OldVelos HQ that it is one of the most intreating colours we have seen for some time.
Location: Portugal
Bicycle Make: Marinoni
Bicycle model: Marinoni Special
Date of Manufacture: 1982

Mostly Campagnolo Super Record. The wheels are Nuovo Record hubs laced to Alpine rims. The bottom bracket is also Nuovo Record. Front derailleur and shifters are Suntour Superb. The brakes are Modolo International. A comfortable ride is assured with the addition os a Selle San Marco Regal saddle.
Other information:
I purchased this bike directly from the Marinoni factory in Canada, it was built to my specification and it is still he best riding and handling bicycle I have ever owned! The build quality as good or better than any European or American production bicycle I be seen.
