Bike of the Month – November 2019

The owner of the beautiful restoration is Andrea Virgillito currently living in Dublin and working in 360 Cycles on the Clontarf Road. If you are out for a spin to Howth on the bike path I am sure he would offer you a coffee if you call in to discuss his ‘Pride and Joy’!

Andrea took the photos himself and I am sure you will agree that his photographic skills are on a par with his ‘wrenching’.

Other information:

The first Andrea heard about this frame was a text from a friend- “Hey Bro, I have a Pink Moser frame as you like, with the tubing all bent”

Here is what happened next in Andrea’s words: ‘My blood froze in my veins when I received this text from a friend, For a bike passionate, the ‘Va por la Hora’ is one of the Holy Grail.
Without hesitation I arranged the pick up without even seeing the frame.
The frame was the right one, but the condition, well we could say it has seen better times. The rust was all over the chrome parts, and the paint was all faded and smeared. With some work on it, the original color and the chrome parts start to shine again, preserving the originality and the history of the frame.
A Moser Leader AX from the same year donated the Dura Ace groupset, otherwise a fast parts hunt on the web, some precious gift as the gorgeous pedals (thanks Stefano) and some adaption, as the wrong seatpost, make the restore complete, for now.
A rear disc wheel is already under restore and hopefully will take place on the bike soon.’
