Bike of the Month – October 2019

We are a bit late getting the ‘Bike of the Month’ posted this month due to taking part in L’Eroica. I am sure you will agree that it was worth the wait when you see Bart’s bike.

Equipment:

The frame was made in 2012 from one of the last known 531 DB tube sets. It was built specifically for use in the L’Eroica. Most of the components came from a 1970’s Viking with the exception of of the rare Campag Rally rear mech which was sourced on eBay. I thought the more forgiving gear ratios would help me get over the Lemole climb! The frame is in contrasting green colours which I thought was suitable since the bike has an Irish owner.

I have just recently completed my fourth L’Eroica in Gaiole and have used the bike at L’Eroica Britannia and L’Eroica California.
